Model Jang Yoon ju recently shared the secret to maintaining her figure. She posted a video on social media, captioning it, "I work out relentlessly. I feel anxious if I skip a session. I can’t stand gaining weight or losing muscle tone."

In the video, Jang Yoon ju is seen lifting heavy dumbbells. Last month, she also revealed that she incorporates weight training into her routine twice a week and practices SNPE once a week. Here’s a closer look at her fitness regimen.

What Is SNPE Exercise?

One of the key techniques Jang Yoon ju mentioned is SNPE, an exercise that may not be familiar to everyone. SNPE, short for "Self Natural Posture Exercise," is designed to help the body return to its natural posture through self-guided movements. This exercise, developed in South Korea, is also known as "Proper Posture Exercise" or "Proper Posture Spine Exercise."

SNPE focuses on realigning the spine and pelvis. It stretches tight muscles and incorporates repetitive breathing to correct poor posture and alleviate musculoskeletal pain. SNPE combines the best elements of yoga, Pilates, fitness, and chiropractic techniques, using various spinal correction tools such as belts and sticks.

For instance, one posture involves securing joints below the knees and ankles with a specialized belt, which activates and strengthens the core. Another movement, where hands are clasped behind the back and the body is lowered, helps to tone muscles throughout the body.

The benefits of SNPE have been scientifically validated. The Korea Posture Research Institute and the Sports Science Research Team at Kookmin University presented their findings on SNPE’s effectiveness at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Their research showed that participants who practiced SNPE experienced reduced overall body pain and improvements in mobility, strength, and flexibility. Women with chronic back pain also reported relief from back and pelvic pain.

Weight Training: Building Muscle Mass and Enhancing Mental Well-being

The weight training that Jang Yoon ju consistently practices includes strength exercises using body weight, dumbbells, bands, and other equipment. This training increases muscle mass in various parts of the body, such as the arms, back, and hips, which in turn boosts basal metabolic rate (BMR).

BMR is the amount of energy required to maintain essential bodily functions like breathing and temperature regulation. A higher BMR enhances physical fitness and helps maintain a leaner physique. Additionally, increased muscle mass aids in preventing blood sugar spikes by consuming glucose.

It’s important to tailor workout intensity to one’s physical condition rather than overexerting. Even just twice a week, consistent exercise like Jang Yoon ju’s routine can be highly beneficial.

Regular weight training also has positive effects on mental health. Researchers at the University of Limerick in Ireland conducted a study where participants were divided into two groups: one that engaged in weight training and one that continued their usual lifestyle. After eight weeks, the group that performed weight training showed a 20% reduction in anxiety compared to their pre-exercise levels.
