[Celeb Health] Lee HyoRi shared her home-cooked meals
She appeared as a guest on MBC Radio FM4U's “It's a Perfect Day and Soon.” which is hosted by singer Lee SangSoon, her husband. Lee HyoRi mentioned, "Hasn't it been two months since you started doing the radio show?" and added, "That means it's also been two months since I last cooked.“
She went on to express her admiration for all the housewives in South Korea, saying, "I realized that preparing meals is really hard. You have to think carefully about the menu. You can't repeat dishes, and it's tough." Lee SangSoon responded, "For the person eating the meal, it's fine if the menu repeats," but Lee HyoRi disagreed, saying, "As the one preparing the meal, I want to serve something different.”
Lee HyoRi also shared an interesting story, saying, "Recently, I went to Noryangjin Fish Market and bought 160 sailfin sandfishs, I dried them for three days and then grilled them. Lee SangSoon said it felt like fish roe was coming out of his mouth.”
Nutritious Winter Fish Rich in Unsaturated Fatty Acids
Sailfin sandfishs, which Lee HyoRi mentioned purchasing, is a fish that is in season during winter. While it's fine to eat in January, the best time to enjoy its unique texture and flavor is usually in November or December. This is because sailfin sandfishs is plentiful and large during its spawning season in these months. After the spawning period in December, the fish loses some of its taste as it expels fat from its body.
Sailfin sandfishs is rich in nutrients and can be cooked in various ways, such as grilling, stewing, or making soup. It’s packed with unsaturated fatty acids like DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), which help improve blood vessel health by lowering triglycerides and cholesterol levels. It also aids in blood circulation.
The DHA in sailfin sandfishs is particularly helpful in preventing high cholesterol, arteriosclerosis, and high blood pressure. It is also believed to improve memory and vision. EPA works alongside DHA to protect brain blood vessels and is beneficial in preventing conditions like arteriosclerosis, heart attacks, and strokes.
High Glutamic Acid Content for Fatigue Recovery
Sailfin sandfishs is also abundant in glutamic acid, an amino acid that has detoxifying and diuretic effects, as well as aids in fatigue recovery. It helps produce GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which calms the brain and provides a soothing effect. Additionally, sailfin sandfishs is rich in minerals like potassium and calcium. Potassium helps to remove excess sodium from the body, preventing high blood pressure and swelling, while calcium contributes to bone health and dental formation. Other minerals like magnesium and phosphorus are also present in sailfin sandfishs.
The eggs of sailfin sandfishs are packed with various vitamins, and the sticky mucus surrounding the eggs contains chondroitin and hyaluronic acid. These components help with fatigue recovery, promote skin hydration and elasticity, and are beneficial for joint health.
