ChaeRyeong's Secret to Her Fair Skin: Not Doing 'This' in the Morning
[Celeb Health] ChaeRyeong's Secret to Her Fair Skin
K-pop group ITZY's ChaeRyeong revealed that she doesn't wash her face much in the morning.
Recently, ChaeRyeong said on a broadcast program, “I don't wash my face in the morning.” She explained, “My skin is dry, so I just brush my teeth and remove the sleep from my eyes.” In response, comedian Song EunI remarked, “But Your skin looks really good!”
Rinse with Water to Remove Dust and Impurities
ChaeRyeong mentioned that her skin is dry, which is why she doesn’t wash her face in the morning. However, it is generally recommended to wash your face in the morning to remove waste accumulated overnight and any dust that may transfer from bedding. If you have dry skin like ChaeRyeong, it is advisable to wash your face with just water or a small amount of cleanser for no more than one minute.
Before washing your face, it's important to wash your hands thoroughly to remove any bacteria. Then, use a cleanser to create enough lather and gently massage it onto your face. Pay extra attention to areas where oil tends to accumulate, such as the sides of your nose, below your lips, and on your philtrum.
Use Mildly Acidic Cleansers for Dry Skin and Alkaline Cleansers for Oily Skin
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water for more than one minute. While some recommend finishing with cold water to minimize pores, this may not be effective and could actually irritate the skin. After washing your face, gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel and apply a moisturizer within one minute to prevent dryness.
The choice of cleanser should vary based on your skin type. If you have dry and sensitive skin, it's best to use a mildly acidic cleanser that matches your skin's pH. On the other hand, if you have oily skin and large pores, a stronger alkaline cleanser would be more appropriate.
When applying sunscreen or makeup, it's important to first use cleansing water, cream, or oil to remove excess oil, followed by a second step of foam cleansing to eliminate any residue, known as double cleansing.
Washing your face twice a day—morning and evening—is generally sufficient. Frequent washing can lead to dryness and disrupt the skin barrier, causing issues. If you sweat a lot or get something on your face, it’s better to do a quick rinse with water.
