Girl’s Generation’s Yuri Shares Bikini Photo.

Recently, Yuri from Girls' Generation posted a past photo on her social media, showcasing her slim figure. In the picture, she enjoys the beach wearing sunglasses and a red bikini. After seeing the post, fellow member Sooyoung commented, “This is a photo of Kwon Yuri from about 10 years ago. I might take good pictures, but Yuri’s body is just amazing!”

Though the photo is from years ago, Yuri looks like she could have taken it this summer, thanks to her consistent yoga practice. Earlier this month, she also shared recent photos highlighting her abs and toned physique.

Yoga Strengthens the Body and Reduces Body Fat

Yuri has maintained her slim figure through regular yoga practice. Although yoga is known as a static exercise, it effectively helps build a strong body. It strengthens overall muscles while reducing body fat.

According to a study by researchers from Gulbarga University in India, both men and women who practiced yoga for six months experienced reductions in body fat and increased strength. Participants performed various poses, such as reaching for the sky, bending at the waist, and holding a plank. After the yoga sessions, they underwent tests to evaluate their strength and endurance.

The study measured maximum strength through exercises like bench press and shoulder press, and endurance through push-ups and pull-ups. Results showed that men reduced their body fat by 2.25%, while women reduced theirs by 6.95%. Endurance and strength also improved.

Deep Breathing Aids Blood Circulation and Reduces Stress

The deep breathing fundamental to yoga helps improve blood circulation, making it easier to supply nutrients to all cells and tissues. Training in various poses helps align the body, promoting a balanced physique and flexibility.

In addition to physical benefits, yoga is effective in reducing stress. The repetitive deep breathing in yoga balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, relieving tension and promoting psychological stability.

Research has shown that yoga is particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes. A study from the Keck School of Medicine of USC compared two groups: one receiving only medication and the other combining medication with mind-body practices. The group that practiced mind-body techniques had lower hemoglobin A1c levels, with yoga showing significant positive effects. Those practicing yoga saw a reduction of 1% in hemoglobin A1c, similar to the effects of diabetes medication.
