TV Host Choi Hwa-jung (63) Reveals Her Night Routine for Maintaining Youthful Beauty.

Recently, Choi Hwa-jung’s YouTube channel, “Hello, This is Choi Hwa-jung,” released a video titled “Choi Hwa-jung’s Youthful Night Routine Revealed for the First Time (+Real Camera).”

In the video, Choi Hwa-jung, wearing a bathrobe and sitting in the bathtub, says, “I like taking half-body baths and also enjoy saunas. Regular half-body baths 2-3 times a week definitely improve my skin and help with weight loss.”

After her half-body bath, Choi Hwa-jung started cleansing with an oil balm. She explains, “I prefer oil cleansing because makeup is also oil-based. Oil dissolves oil best. I hate removing the skin’s protective barrier. Although it varies from person to person, I prefer the oil balm type.”

After washing her face and applying basic skincare products, Choi Hwa-jung warmed up a bowl of ‘Witch’s Soup’ for her evening snack. She comments, “Some people wonder if I eat something at night. I do eat this. It’s fine to have 100 grams of Witch’s Soup. It actually takes a lot of energy to do a half-body bath. Some people even faint. So, this soup helps replenish energy and is good for your skin.”

Before going to bed, Choi Hwa-jung brushed her teeth and went to bed with her dog. She then applied aromatherapy oil and took deep breaths to inhale the scent. She says, “I think about things I’m grateful for while smelling the scent. It makes me feel calm. After reflecting on the day, I turn off the lamp and go to sleep with my dog, Jun.”

Half-Body Bath Promotes Metabolism and Better Sleep

Choi Hwa-jung’s main night routine, the half-body bath, involves soaking only the lower part of the body in warm water. This bath raises body temperature, which boosts metabolism and aids in weight loss. It also relaxes muscles, improves blood circulation, and reduces swelling. Taking a half-body bath before bed is especially good for getting a good night’s sleep.

The recommended time for a half-body bath is 20-30 minutes. If you experience dizziness or difficulty breathing, stop immediately. Avoid soaking for too long to prevent dehydration.

‘Witch’s Soup’ is Low in Calories and Filling

After her bath, Choi Hwa-jung replenishes her energy with ‘Witch’s Soup.’ This soup is made from a variety of vegetables like cabbage, onion, tomato, carrot, and potato. It is named for its resemblance to a witch’s potion.

Tomatoes are high in fiber, which helps with constipation and provides a sense of fullness due to their high water content. Onions help dissolve unnecessary lactic acid and fat in the body. Cabbage is rich in dietary fiber, which also helps with fullness and detoxification. These low-calorie vegetables are great for late-night eating and help keep the skin clear and healthy.

Cleansing Balm Effective for Removing Makeup and Oil

Choi Hwa-jung uses a cleansing balm to remove makeup. The balm has a sherbet-like texture and melts into oil when massaged into the skin. Since oil dissolves other oil-based substances effectively, it removes makeup and excess oil well.

To protect the skin barrier, use cleansing oil gently, and rinse with water. Double cleansing with a cleansing oil and foam may harm the skin barrier and strip essential oils and moisture. After cleansing, quickly apply toner, lotion, or cream to maintain skin hydration.

Aromatic oils to help you get a good night's sleep

Choi Hwa-jung’s final night routine involves using aromatherapy oil to relax muscles and calm the mind before sleep. Scents like lavender and chamomile are helpful. Apply a few drops to a handkerchief or tissue and place it near your bed.

While aromatherapy oil is generally safe, some people need to be cautious. Infants, pregnant women, and people with high blood pressure should avoid it, as it may cause dizziness, difficulty breathing, or allergic reactions in rare cases.
